Be worried.\u201d<\/strong><\/p>\n<h2>Jim Rogers on the Worst Recession in His Lifetime<\/h2>\n<p>Famed investor Jim Rogers shared his view about the U.S. economy in an interview with Business Today, published Monday. Rogers is George Soros\u2019 former business partner who co-founded the Quantum Fund and Soros Fund Management.<\/p>\n<p>He was asked if right now is \u201cthe beginning of an impending recession, the worst ever like it\u2019s been predicted by some.\u201d Rogers replied:<\/p>\n<p>Well, before this is over, yes, it\u2019s going to be the worst in my lifetime.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cIn 2008, we had a problem because of too much debt,\u201d he explained. \u201cBut since 2009, the debt everywhere, everywhere, has skyrocketed. So the next problem has to be the worst in my lifetime because the debt has gotten so, so, so much worse.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>However, he noted: \u201cHaving said that, there\u2019s a huge amount of pessimism around right now, and normally when there\u2019s a lot of pessimism, something happens and people get happy for a short time.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>While stating that he is not making a prediction, Rogers opined: \u201cIf there were peace in Ukraine, oh my gosh, the pessimism would disappear and stocks would go up.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>The renowned investor warned:<\/p>\n<p>So, something is probably going to happen. We are probably going to have one last rally but that will be it. Then we are coming to the end of the line. Be worried.<\/p>\n<p>Regarding the stock market, he said: \u201cThere have been many times in history when stocks have done nothing for a long period of time or even declined for a long period of time \u2026 Stocks do not have to go up all the time. We have had many long bear markets, and we will, we are going to have another one now, soon.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>While emphasizing that \u201cThis year so far has been one of the worst\u201d and bear markets \u201ccan be really, really devastating and surprising,\u201d Rogers stressed:<\/p>\n<p>Before it\u2019s over, I expect [it] to get much, much, much worse \u2026 Some companies will go bankrupt.<\/p>\n<p>In July, Rogers warned that the <a href=\"https:\/\/news.bitcoin.com\/renowned-investor-jim-rogers-warns-the-worst-bear-market-in-his-lifetime-is-incoming\/\">worst bear market<\/a> in his lifetime is coming.
